FVSB once again attained another major safety milestone in Q4 2022 after recording 3.03 million man-hours worked without a lost time incident (LTI).
Whilst celebrating this achievement, the Chief Operating Officer Capt. Stephen Siva, in his internal message to FVSB staff recently, had this to say of the achievement:
Human mistake is by far the major contributor to recorded accidents, with over 90 percent of all incidences attributable to the human factor. The rapid introduction of new standards, processes, and technologies makes it more difficult than ever to manage, report on, and increase crew proficiency levels.
In November of 2022, we were awarded the OPITO Competency Management System (CMS) Certificate, representing yet another milestone. Congratulations to everyone for the accomplishment. Our CMS enables us to demonstrate our dedication to safety and continued professional growth, while also fostering a healthy work environment and promoting effective operations.
The CMS is an ideal instrument for demonstrating a quality-assured system to external stakeholders, etc. Implementing a CMS will provide insights into crews’ existing levels of competency and assist in constructing an organization-wide picture of any gaps. Using this information as a basis can build employees’ roadmap for growth and advancement.
We consider a successful HSE programme to be one in which our employees return home in the same condition as when they started their shift and remain safe at home as well.
To this purpose, we supply our personnel with frequent information for evaluation and action on-site. Everyone, beginning with the highest level of management, is accountable for the safety and health of their subordinates and co-workers, and we will all contribute to personnel welfare.
This remarkable accomplishment is a result of FVSB’s ongoing commitment to safety and our stringent safety procedures and systems.
Safety continues to be our core focus and our consistent safety performance is one of the many factors which propel FVSB forward as the leading Operations and Maintenance (O&M) service provider for the Malaysian and Thailand offshore oil & gas industry.
