On 1 November 2016, FVSB completed a transition process to manage the production and maintenance operations of the Mobile Offshore Application Barge (MOAB) in South Angsi-A oilfield from Repsol. Apart from document bridging and planning, a total of 43 handover systems, inventories handover, Repsol’s audits (Operational Readiness Audit & ERP Cold Eye Observations) and Competency Assessment were completed. This achievement is a major step forward for FVSB to continue to deliver real added value to the existing customers and shareholders. MOAB operations team has a total of 24 core crew.

The Mobile Offshore Application Barge (MOAB) is a four-legged self-erecting steel construction barge facility and is bridge-linked to the FSO via a telescopic 56-75 metres Personnel Transfer Bridge (PTB). The MOAB is a full production facility consisting of the wellhead (well bay) & processing facilities (hull) with water injection and gas facilities. Stabilised crude oil from MOAB is exported via a low pressure oil delivery hoses to FSO. The MOAB is owned by Repsol Oil & Gas Malaysia Limited and has been in operation since August 2005.

SAA oil field in Block PM-305 has an area of 2162 sq. kms and is located approximately 70 kilometres off the eastern coast of Peninsula Malaysia in approximately 70 metres of water.
